BEST DRESSED - WEDDING GUEST EDITION
We had so much fun playing dress-up for our fantasy summer wedding this week! And so we wanted to share our top tips for wedding guest dressing with you. Whether it’s a wedding abroad, a classy cocktail party or a family affair, our first piece of advice is always the same:
1. Choose something you love
Fall in love with your look - don’t just buy something because you feel you have to. Even if it’s not strictly wedding attire, spend your money on something that will bring you joy wear after wear. And we’re definitely in love with our first two quirky looks: full-on frills from MeiMei J, which is actually a skirt and top; and a slick linen pinstripe suit from Vilagallo. Which leads us perfectly into our second piece of advice . . .
2. It doesn’t always have to be a dress
Leading on from tip number 1, don’t get too bogged down on what you should wear; instead go for a jumpsuit, a three-piece suit, separates, whatever you fancy. Embracing the idea of separates, we included two stunning trousers suits from Italian designer Beatrice B: this beautiful pale blush satin fringed number above and the slick teal cocktail trousers suit below. And the great thing about investing in separates is that you can re-wear them so many different ways afterwards.
3. Embrace sorbet shades
Shades of blush, lemon and peach are massive this season - and you might be pleasantly surprised to find they actually suit your skin tone. We love this peachy number with dramatic shoulders and sleek silhouette or this fabulous lemon prom dress from Scandi brand Malina.
4. It’s all about the bling
Sparkle is a must for a summer wedding and we are obsessed with the new drop from Caroline Svedbom. A statement pair of earrings and your favourite shades are the perfect accessories for a wedding in the sunshine.
5. Wear again and again and again!!
Our final and favourite piece of advice is to wear your wedding look more than once. Never worry if someone has already seen your look, it’s called being sustainable Daling. Dress up with heels or down with your favourite trainers and you’ll get endless wear out of your fabulous pieces.
